ADMINISTRATIVE BOARD/COUNCIL is scheduled to meet Sunday, August 1 after Sunday school. 

SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT:  Rachel Ann Martin is the recipient of the Stewart UMC higher education scholarship based on membership and attendance.  She is also being awarded the Minnie Thomas Good Samaritan scholarship.  In addition to membership and attendance, this award is based on hours of service in the church and community following the example that Miss Minnie Thomas has represented throughout her life. These scholarships will be awarded during the worship service on August 1by Carolyn Payne, chrm.

IT’S HOMECOMING TIME AGAIN!  Homecoming Day is Sunday, August 22, at 10:45 a.m. with lunch following at 12:00 noon.  Rev. Danny Arnold, pastor of Troy UMC, will be our guest speaker.  His wife, Alice will attend with him. Stewart choir will provide special music during the service. There will be no Sunday school classes that day.  Gina Clary Mills, chairperson, has a list of job opportunities for church members.  Please contact her at 372-2215 or 372-7774 if you have any questions.

ANNUAL CHURCH/GROUNDS CLEAN UP: Saturday, August 14 at 8:00 a.m. (If you and your group clean prior to that date, please leave note that room has been cleaned). Check with Gina C. Mills for inside duties and Johnny McGahey for outside duties.

THE SEEKERS BIBLE STUDY GROUP:   The group will not meet during the month of August.  They will resume on Thursday, September 2 with their annual planning meeting. (Time to be announced) 

REV. JOHN BONNER, Demopolis District Superintendent, will be guest preacher on Sunday, August 15 at 9:00 a.m.

CHILDREN/YOUTH: Since many of our children/youth have participated in Blue Lake Camp, Hinton Mission trip and other local Bible schools this summer, we have decided not to have VBS at Stewart this year.  Instead, we plan to concentrate on providing a Children/Youth ministry for our 3-day revival planned for February/March 2011.
