The Stewart United Methodist
Church strongly supports Missions, not only at home but abroad. This is only a
small part of spreading the gospel and giving to others a portion with which God
has so richly blessed us.

Welcome to the
exciting ministry of Henderson Settlement.
We impact the lives of people on a daily basis by “Meeting
Basic Human Needs in Appalachia” – at least in our portion
of Appalachia.
Henderson
Settlement reaches out through more than 60 different ministry
activities (programs) to families in four different counties in
southeast Kentucky and northeast Tennessee.
We touch the lives of more than 3,000 rural people each year in
all ages and stages of life in communities where 80% of the people fall
into the low-income or poverty level categories and real unemployment
runs between 40 to 50%.
Henderson
Settlement also provides opportunity for thousands of people each year
to be directly involved in our ministry to bring wholeness and hope.
I hope you will investigate further the opportunities for you to
involve yourself in this ministry.
You may decide you want to come visit us, volunteer for a few
days, or build support in your hometown for our ministry that continues
to make a difference in the lives of so many.
Let us know how you want to be a partner with us.
