In 2001 a team of 21 headed by Johnny Mcgahey went back to Honduras. There were seven members from Stewart UMC on this trip. The purpose of this trip was to build furniture for the church that was started in 2000. SUMC not only supported part of the expenses but also collected clothes, shoes, school supplies and hygiene items for Honduras. The members of the team received much more of a blessing than they gave. Team members from SUMC were: Johnny McGahey, Vicki McCray, Janet Stegall, Bro. Grant Parker, Carolyn Payne, Jill Martin and Ashley Wilson.
